Why do we run Rhymetime sessions?
Did you know that babies and children who have the pleasure of hearing stories and rhymes get a flying start when it comes to learning to read by themselves?
Every baby is unique in the way it develops and grows. By coming to Rhymetime sessions, you help to build your baby's brain by soothing and / or stimulating them. Talking and singing to your baby builds brain patterns for language development, cognitive function and social interaction. It's never too early to sing nursery rhymes and look at books with your baby - even the youngest baby benefits from listening to your voice!
So come along and join the fun!
You will also have the chance to meet and get to know other parents/carers, and it's a great opportunity to be reminded of long forgotten songs and rhymes and to learn new ones!
Check out the Bookstart website by clicking on the Bookstart Bear above - they have some fantastic, practical tips on fun ways to share picture books with small children, including a short video clip showing how to make story sessions engaging for your little ones!
