FREE English Lessons For Women

Run by Salaam Women's Fellowship at St Paul's Church on Blandford Road, AL1 4JP, this group of volunteers offer FREE English lessons to women needing support and encouragement in gaining language skills to aid their integration into life in the UK.

The group usually runs from 1pm to 2.45pm on Wednesdays during term time, enabling ladies to leave in time to collect school children if necessary.

Ladies with babies and toddlers are also very welcome; although there is not a separate crèche, there are toys available to play with.

The aim of the group is to help those ladies who are either unable to go to college, or who go to college but would benefit from extra language practise in a very relaxed environment.

Please contact St Paul's Church office on 01727 846 281 or to find out when the next class will be; there will be no classes during Ramadan.

Oaklands College also deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses - they are delivered at Camp School and London Colney School - £80 for 20 weeks.  For more details please click here.
